The Christ Pentecostal Church at Brush Creek will have a community cookout at the church on Saturday, April 26 at 402 Alexandria Highway, Brush Creek. The cookout begins at 3 p.m. with music provided by Right On Time at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Come and celebrate with them.

Walk across Tennessee KICK OFF IS MONDAY, APRIL 14.
Anyone can be on a team!! Youth, adult, coworkers, friends, family, etc. No FEES! Walk across Tennessee is an 8-week team competition to see who can log the most miles exercising.
You are not literally walking across Tennessee. Your team is exercising for 8 weeks and the goal is to accumulate the equivalent of 500 miles which is the length of the state of Tennessee.
Other types of exercise can be counted by using a exercise conversion chart. It’s a fun friendly competition and what better way to get fit.
How to participate???
1. Come up with up to 8 team members
2. Choose a Team Captain and a Team Name
3. Team Captain download the captains packet at https://dekalb.tennessee.edu/family-consumer-science/ and have each team member complete the individual registration form on the website. We also have packets put together outside the UT UT – TSU Extension- DeKalb County located inside the DeKalb County Complex Building.
4. Attend the Kickoff and root for your team on Monday, April 14th at Greenbrook Park.
5. Exercise for 8 weeks. Any exercise counts. We have a conversion chart you can use.
Any exercise counted using a pedometer/fitness watch should be for time periods at least 10 minutes or more.

2024-25 DeKalb County School Calendar
The 2024-25 DeKalb County School Calendar is as follows:
DeKalb County Schools will be closed for Good Friday. April 18, and Monday, April 21. The last day of school will be May 23, 2025 (abbreviated 7:45 a.m.-9:15 a.m.). May 22 will be an administrative day. Report cards will be issued at all schools on May 23. The DCHS graduation will be Friday, May 16. The DCHS Prom is Friday, April 11
Ladies Prayer Strategy Event
Mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, cousins and lady friends, get your tickets now for the Last Minute Toy Shop’s event to be held on May 3, 2025 at the DeKalb County Complex auditorium from 11:30a-1:30p. Four guest speakers, including Wanda Redmon, Tara Hale, Billy Ann Tubbs-Trigueros, and Beth Gill will talk about standing together in prayer to fight the opposition, along with ideas of creating your own war board, war room or war binder. UCHRA Commodities Distribution
The Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency (UCHRA) will hold a commodities distribution in DeKalb County on Thursday, April 24, from 9 until 11 a.m. at 726 S. Congress Blvd.: Smithville, TN. Clients can sign up ahead of time online or at the distribution site on the day of the event.
