DCHS-White County Games Rescheduled

The DCHS basketball games at White County scheduled for Friday night, January 10 have been rescheduled for Thursday, January 9 due to pending winter weather. Game time 6 p.m. starting with the girls game followed by the boys game.

Blood Assurance Drive

Blood Assurance is giving you another opportunity to donate this month (January) in DeKalb County. The next blood drive will be Friday, January 24 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Ascension Saint Thomas DeKalb Hospital at 520 West Main Street on the bloodmobile in the parking lot. You may schedule an appointment at www.bloodassurance.org/stthomas24. You may also call Trudy Cody at 931-239-9411. Remember to eat a good meal, drink additional water, avoid energy drinks and bring your ID. Blood Assurance is the sole blood provider for the local hospitals and your donation is needed for an adequate supply. One donation can save three lives. Each donor will receive a “Save Lives” long sleeve t-shirt for National Blood Donor Month while supplies last.

DeKalb County Board of Education Meeting

The DeKalb County Board of Education will meet in regular monthly session Thursday, January 9 at 6 p.m. at the Ernest Ray Education Center. A work session will be held prior to the meeting at 5 p.m.

Blood Drive to be held in memory of SFC Tyler Durden

Blood Assurance Drive will be held Saturday, December 7 in memory of the late SFC Tyler Durden from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the parking lot of the DeKalb County Complex in Smithville on the mobile.

Sergeant Durden served his country for 17 years in the United States Army.

All donors will receive “It’s a Beaut Clark” socks and be entered in a drawing for a $500 shopping spree gift card. One lucky donor will win.
